Hi!
I am Shagane Barsegian Launey, maker, designer & founder behind Wolf Industries, a concept brand making kid’s clothing, toys & accessories.
We design an evergreen catalog of products as well as experiment with new ones to add. Our process is grounded in research, prototyping & play. Postproduction we are working to release DIY guides to give our community an option to make as well as buy.
Visit the studio to see techniques, materials, sketches & inspiration. Check out cartoons to catch the little wolf in action or watch live coverage of work sessions on Ustream. Submit a raisin to contribute ideas, pictures & stories. Find our tiny community and hear the latest forest whispers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest. Don’t be shy to say hi, email at wooolfindustries@gmail.com.

About Me & Ulfile
I am half Armenian & half Russian, born in the port city of Vladivostok. Trained in fashion, I worked for Marc Jacobs in NY & Burfitt in Paris. I received an MFA in Design at CCA in San Francisco. I live & craft in Oakland. Find my portfolio on Tumblr, say hi on Twitter or Linked In.
Ulfile is my 2.5 year old daughter who is well-humored adventurer. Speeking Russian, we split our activities between doing fun & silly with creative & outdoorsy stuff.
About The Process
I spend my free time behind a long maple top worktable, enormously heavy and stuffed with materials compulsively gathered over the years. I also have a grocery cart with paper supplies permanently borrowed from a local pharmacy.
There is a sense of purpose in sharing made objects and ideas with the world outside my studio. Taking a concept and nurturing a creative approach is an exciting challenge. Making it bullet proof for the real world is another elegant dance that tests your adaptability. Over time the objects you’ve made get embedded with stories and transform to be tiny treasures.
I am inspired by illustrations that reveal characters, costumes with humor, toys with unexpected expressions, clothing with elements of discovery and DIY projects that invite participation and play. I am also curious about the ever changing digital technologies, especially towards how they converge with and evolve the physical goods.
About The Name
Wild implies displacement from the original habitat. More mobile and connected than ever before we’ve evolved to be hairy outsiders wondering one planet. The wild stands on the contradiction of high ignorance and high purity. It is through the estranged, the feared, the curious and the misunderstood that instincts are exposed. Once default behaviors are explicitly understood, one can move forward to expand the worldview.
